i can't install webroot spy sweeper with antivirus on my laptop, i turned off all firewalls and virus and other spyware protection on it but when it's installing it gives me a run time error message and says there's an access violation.
any ideas?

get webroot spysweeper from there main site and get the copy wihtout the anit virus protection or get the one with anti virus protection and uninstall your anti virus you have now.
Did you completely un-install your other anti-virus app before you attempted to install Webroot SpySweeper with Antivirus.
The use of 2 or more anti-virus programs at the same time can cause major conflicts. The 2 scanning engines will fight each other to scan every file that you read, write or execute which can cause a slowdown. For the same reason, using 2 A-Vs can cause you to have less protection from the various malware, not more.
(Using an anti-spyware with an anti-virus is good, however and is recommended)
BTW SpySweeper is a most excellent program. I use it and love it myself.

most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser.
you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus. i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar.
firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser.
as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.
besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE. download firefox for free, Just have a try:
