I would recommend Norton every time for anti-virus. For anti-spyware i use Lavasofts Ad-Aware SE Personal which is available as a free download from the Google homepage.

Avg is not the antivirus you want, for it is pitiful.
Zone alarm is the way to go, but the configuring is not for the light hearted.
For antispy, your average Spybot is the best, not some overrated lavasoft junk.

Zonealarm this is a top notch firewall, and i reccamend it GREATLY! this helped spyware, and virues from not getting on your computer in the first place!
