I wonder to know why companies such as Skybot, AVG provided free antivirus? Are all those free software reliable?

Yes, The reason why they are free is so that if you like their product, they hope you will buy it. They don't lose too much money by giving something free.
A lot of Schools, Government, and businesses will buy the better versions of the products. Also, the products are only legally free most of the time if it is for personal use.

yes there all reliable but the reason they put them out for free is in the hope people will upgrade to the full version for $$$.all these apps are good but most dont have real time protection etc unless you pay for the full version or get the code off limewire like i do
