While scanning for viruses using Avast! I sent all the viruses to the Virus chest. Now If I want to permanently get rid of the virus can i delete it from the chest? Will it totally eradicate the virus from my computer, or will it disable some items of my PC? What can be the secondary options to get rid of the viruses?
The viruses found by the avast! antivirus are:
(1)Win32:Sality-AP
(2)Win32:Agent

Virus chest is nothing but the place where AVG quarantines the infected files..
A virus can be removed either cleaning only the virus part from a file or by cleaning the whole file.
When it is difficult for AVG to clean only the virus part of a file, it quarantines the file which means the file is still in the computer but the virus inside the file is powerless as long as it is in Virus chest..
Now if you want to recover the file and clean only the virus inside the file, you need to look for an alternate method since AVG wasn't able to do it.
But if you no longer need the file, you can just delete it.
