Hi. I had the exactly same thing. Have you by any chance also had some starnage messages in Yahho chat sessions? Also from this worm.

It is a Worm.Win32.C AutoIT worm that infects into Windows system files. If you simply delete these files, you will probably cause big problems. When my anti-virus quaranteened these files, I lost all network and internet functions, and I had to restore these files.

I had the full blown, paid for version of AVG, fully updated etc. It never detected this worm. I uninstalled AVG and put in Trends PC-cillin, which detected it but could not clean it.
