Is it fine if you'll uninstall an antivirus then install another antivirus program?

i mean, im currently using kaspersky. i want to switch to eset nod32 because i'll think its better than kaspersky.. if i will unsinstall then install nod32 will there be a non-compatible file left when kaspersky uninstalled?... will nod32 still detect a virus? because when the time i used my old cpu, i keep on switching antivirus program.. then i installed kaspersky till the end. and after how many months it didnt detect anything..

i like to switch to nod32, but if i found out that kaspersky is still better.. i will install again.. can it detect again like my kaspersky on my new cpu?

You will have no problem when switching antivirus programs. I do it all the time. As long as you don't install and run them together in one computer. They detect then delete or quarantine whatever virus they find. When you uninstall the program, all the viruses quarantined will also be deleted.

Each brand has its own way of detecting and managing viruses. So whatever kaspersky detected, filed or quarantined before is useless to norton or AVG or nod32 now. You will have to uninstall everything to avoid any compatibility issues. .

All the antivirus programs detect active viruses. Quarantined or deleted files with viruses are no longer active and are no longer capable of affecting your pc so they are, of course, no longer detectable. They are only recognized by the program that did the deleting and the quarantining.
