Even if its on a Mac, Windows will still be vulnerable to viruses, spyware, hackers, and other malicious threats just as if it was on a PC. Therefore, yes, you'll need an anti-virus software.

If you can't afford an anti-virus I recommend ONE of these three:

AVG Free edition (if your a basic user, not recommended though against tough viruses)

Avast! Home Edition (provides multiple protections)

/eng/download-avast-home.html )

AntiVir Personal Edition Classic (strongest among the two, but also a bit more advance)

http://www.free-av.com/

Avast! scored Advance on http://www.av-comparatives.org while AVG Anti-Malware (Antivirus and Antispyware combined)scored Advance+ (not Advance) but please remember that it tested the Anti-Malware not the Antivirus so it's uncertain what the antivirus alone recieved.

AVG is simple and easy to use but I recommend avast! out of the two for it's multilayer shields and protection. Avast! does require a license key that expires after 14 months (if you're using the free version of avast! you can re-register for another key for free every year).
