I have problems with updating avg internet security and like to know which antivirus is the best?

i've problem since plug in my friends external hard drives...

auto update give message the update server interrupted and manual update says the update file has corrupted...is this related to any viruses???

and i;d like all of u let me know which antivirus is the best....in category of detecting and removing viruses...

its better u can give me the percentage...and why u said its the best
