How can i check if there's a virus in my computer? ATTN: NORTON ANTIVIRUS USERS?

how can i check if my computer is being hacked/spammed? i have norton antivirus, and i scan my computer constantly and it always has this:

attention required: 1 - cookie tracked...low risk.

then i would click on "fix and remove problem" and 10 mins later when i run the norton scan again, it would find the same "cookie".

i also updated the program...and that same thing has been popping up everytime. is that a virus? somehow my computer has been running soooo slow lately.

norton is supposed to be really good right?

Have you updated Norton Virus Protection? If you click on the icon in your tool bar, the Norton program should come up. Update it, then try to run NVP again.

Now, I have used Norton Systemworks which included Virus protection for years....and I will say Norton does not keep up with spyware like it should. I run PC Tools Spyware Doctor as well as Norton. It does a much better job with the two of them running together. You can go to the website and do a free scan on your computer to see if it has any spyware.

The other possibility is that you may need to run a disk cleanup. Go to Start, All programs, accessories, then system tools and finally click on Disk Cleanup. Run that and see if it helps.
