PLS HELP need help with antivirus software that wont update.?

here is the problem. I downloaded and installed form verizon security although i was running the downloads from yahoo. After downloading the new antivirus, i can not use either. I tried to uninstall completely from yahoo but it would not let me and when i go to activate the verizon software online, i get a small window that asks for user name and password and i type it in and it asks again, i could not expand the window. I am a new comp. net student and i am screwed. Pls help
