Hello virus corrupting files on flash disk symantec antivirus failed to see or delete help please.?

All files on my sony micro vault flash disk have been corrupted by avirus i scanned the flash using symantec antivirus but no change.when i delete all folders still some remain but hidden of a size of 50mb after formatting the flash still 4kb remain could that 4kb be the virus.Does formatting delete the virus any way and what antivirus can i use to delete this virus it mainly corrupts word documents,pdf powerpoint and others in that category.Thanks

It depends, usually a full format would get rid of the virus. The 4kb you see is most probably for the file directory and it is normal. However, it would be safe to do another scan.

Also, you should update your symantec antivirus before scanning.
