Hello, I have norton internet security 2008 installed in my system, as far as i know, antivirus programs like McAfee, Kaspersky, Quick Heal, etc have an option to make an emergency bootable antivirus cd by which we can remove all the viruses simply by rebooting through the cd. But i am unable to find any option in the Norton Internet Security to make a bootable cd. Is there any option to do so??

If yes, please tell me how can we create one...

I think this service is available for Kaspersky Antivirus and i think it's better than norton which you should consider changing and if you want to stick t norton there's a tool called "Norton Ghost" which makes an image of you system and you can go back to this image in an emergency situation

You don't need to create one. Just boot from the norton cd. it should boot in to a dos based anti-virus program.

I use nd love Kaspersky most especially 7.0 it is the best antivirus i've ever used and known but since u said it gives false alarm, which i don't think it does I will advice to go for NOD 32 or BitDefender but i still keep my stand on KAS. Why not give it another chance or probably u don't know how to configure it.
Have you tried using Bit defender i think its quie fantastic.

I had the free AVG free antivirus and it would come up on a regular time to update my virus scan. Now I no longer see the icon on the bottom of my screen and it no longer does the updates. It is still located on my desktop though. I had added what I thought was a free firewall, is that AVGw, that is also on my desktop now. Please help, I'm not young and still trying to learn the right way. What has gone wrong, can anybody help me.

click on the avg thats on your desktop and somewhere in the box that pops up is the firewall for avg you need to re-enable it. something has knocked it out it happens ocassionaly. when you re-enable the firewall it should put the icon back on the taskbar and once the firewall is active again it will do the auto updates
My icon when Black one time..I had uninstall and reinstall it...it has worked fine since then..

It means the FREE license key has expired, now you need to re-registrate for a new license key. Then it'll update regularly. Registration for a new key is also free.
