Will I lose my AntiVirus program that I bought over the internet?

I want to buy an AntiVirus over the internet (download it but it cost money), let's say my computer ends up crashing or I get a new one will I have to buy it again or will I have some sort of code?

u won't lose it at the most u will have to do is re install the program and when u by a anti virus over da Internet u have to make a user name a pass word.that is so u dont have to by it agin...... and i recon installing macafee it's free and very good protection i have it =)

Please install Avira Antivir. I have tried many Anti Virus programs including paid ones. But I have found Anti Vir to be both reliable and compact. It has better capabalities than AVG or any other Anti Virus systems.
For your anti-virus needs, I would suggest Avira AntiVir庐 PersonalEdition Classic. It has excellent heuristics, a virus detection rate that is better than most "paid-for" anti-virus programs and is light on using your computer's resources. Uses less then 10 MB RAM on my machine. And did I mention that it's free for life! Works great on my Vista box, too.

BTW, Avoid the free version of an anti-virus called AVG, it has horrible virus detection capibilities.

New virus? won't let me load antivirus software. HELP!!?

I just got my friend onto the internet but she appears to have a virus on her computer (it may be something else but if it is a virus it's a good one!) I decided that I'd better get her some virus protection, searched AVG and Internet Explorer closed, searched antivirus software and it closed again, tried searching virus, anti* etc. but eveytime it closed, finally managed to get on the site by searching AGV download but guess what???

Sooo, I went on to my computer and downloaded the file to load AVG on to her computer, transferred it with a chip reader and tried to open the file, absolutely nothing happens whichever way I try (run, open from explorer, add/remove programs)

What I really need to know, is it a virus? if so how do I get rid of it, I have only tried loading AVG so maybe it is specific to that program are there any other good free antivirus software (or even a trial version but one that removes viruss and doesn't just search for them)

Any help would be appreciated.

Try turning off your Antivirus and antispy when youe send mails. You might need to reinstall your anti-virus and spyware software.

depends on which one. What are you trying to download, should be pretty simple if it's just one of the freebies like AVG or ad-aware, go to cnet.com, I believe is the website. Find the software you want, click download, click run, follow the steps. Good luck!!

You can only use one antivirus system at a time, otherwise they cancel each other out and you have nothing protecting you. Apparently the Panda is not working as well as you would like or you wouldn't be looking for something else.

What you can do is to backup the panda onto a CD or other media, then uninstall it. First be sure that you have any serial number or license key saved somewhere so it can be re-entered if necessary.

Install other software and let it run to see if it is finding things the Panda is not. Most software vendors will let you download a 30 day trial to see if you like it.

If you decide to keep it you purchase a license key. If not, uninstall it and re-install the Panda.

Well I still suggest AVG Antivirus. There is Free edition of AVG and there is paid license of AVG. I recommend a paid license of AVG Internet Security since it will both scan for viruses and malwares. But a Free AVG is good too along with AVG Anti-Spyware(it will automatically update and scan for it as well as live for only 30 days then you'll have to pay for the automatic update and scan, but it is still free if you do updates and scan manually).

The system / pc you attach has its own OS. Once the system has booted, u attach USB which is recognised as a removable media. You are not booting from pendrive. U need AV active from the host machine u r acessing the pen drive. The only way installing a AV on pendrive would makes sense, is if you install a complete OS onto it and then AV. Next time when you want to transfer the files to pendrive, boot the machine via pendrive (enable boot from USB / other devices in BIOS) and then goto the folder of client you want to copy and copy it to pendrive.

You are safer if you Install a AV on yur system %26 perform check before transfering the file to yur system. Installing AV for mobiles / PDA which has its own (OS) Operating System is a common practice. Both Norton %26 Mcaffee have for mobiles / PDAs.

You don't need antivirus in your pendriver. When you plug it in your computer, then you scan the pendriver. Also turn off autorun on you Windows, cause that's where the security hole is with usb-drives.

Get Spyware Doctor with Antivirus (the real time protection is free) or Kaspersky internt security, you have to pay for that.
