Virus.Win32.eg virus antivirus search.?

Please anyone out there, where can I find an antivirus software that can completely erradicate the above virus from my PC? I got it from a friends flash disk and its perculiarity is that it keeps on creating empty folders and opens folders in new windows instead on itself. It also bars the folder sizes to 33.5kb for all affected folders. Help, please help. I've tried with kaspersky 6 but at a given stage of the cleansing it can't delete the detected virus. Given that I have a multimedia keyboard, whenever I try to increase or decrease the volume of sound on the PC, everything freezes.

Must I disable my antivirus program to download a driver?

I need to download a driver for a scanner I bought. The site www.mustek.com says that I need to disable my antivrus program and firewall or that the new files may be corrupted. Is this a usual procedure when downloading a driver? What happens if I don't disable the antivirus program? Also, how do I disable the program temporarily?

This sort of thing happens all the time and do disable my antivirus progam. I donr knw what antovirus program you are useing but basicly you can just right click on your ativirus in your tool tray and select disable.i am useing AVG and my disableing option says quit.

Once you have compleated your download dont forget to reinable your antvirus program.

I've gotten that before when downloading video card drivers and never bothered... It turned out fine. I would say don't worry about it.

Wouldn't hurt anything to do it though, I mean there has to be a reason why they say that?! Maybe it happened to someone once...

Usually you can go down to your system tray in the lower right,. If you hover over an icon is should say the title of the program. Then you can right click on your anti virus and there should be an option to quit. If not, you can just do the "control-alt-delete" and end it through there.
This is a strange question as you normally don't have to disable anti-virus to download a driver. Try rebooting your computer or check if you have a virus screwing things up. If your running windows vista you could have some problems since vista always has bugs. But just to be sure, check your firewall to see if it's blocking the current problem. Disabling the anti virus makes you more vulnerable to threats but could resolve the problem. Usually there is an option on the antivirus to disable it. I'm not exactly sure how to disable a program temporarily but you could search it up on Google

Can't Install AVG Antivirus Version 8?

I have been running AVG Antivirus 7.5 but have recently tried to install version 8, but cannot. I keep getting the following message..

Installation:

Error: Action failed for file avgwdsvc.exe: starting service....

Has anybody got any suggestions on this...

Having a Virus is not the only reason your computer is running slow.

The main reason computers run slow is not enough RAM.

The Second Main reason - is that there are too many programs running at start up. How many icons do you have in the bottom right corner next to the time display. You should have your anti virus program, and the speakers. and that is all.

I have researched all anti-virus products and the best anti-virus protection is Kaspersky. Kaspersky is the best all-round anti-virus program. NOD32 is just as good if not better, it runs faster and has less software conflicts but may be more difficult to use. Personally, I use NOD32.

Recent tests prove Kaspersky and NOD32 are better than the best sellers Norton and McAfee (av-comparatives.org). Norton is notoriously bloated and takes forever to perform full systems scans.

Trend Micro Antivirus is a viable alternative if you're having a lot of trouble with software conflicts. Trend Micro rounds out the top three. BitDefender is very good as well, but gives a high number of false alarms.
